About Joy
Joy Danforth doesn’t remember not sewing. She learned as a child from her grandmother how to make clothes for her dolls, and eventually, for herself and her family.
More than 20 years ago Joy became interested in quilting but it was with the births of her grandchildren that she began to explore new designs, such as memorabilia quilts, and techniques, such as those achievable with the long-arm machine.
“I want each quilt to say something,” she said. “I have to like what I’m working on. It’s my art, and I create it with fabric.”
